About us
The National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (Public Organization) or NARIT is committed to advancing Thai astronomy in all aspects. NARIT establishes astronomical infrastructure both domestically and internationally to enable Thai astronomers to produce research comparable to international standards. It creates a network of regional observatories for public service, using “astronomy” as a tool to spark imagination and inspire Thai society to take an interest in science and technology through various forms of communication and astronomical activities. This is a key factor that has made NARIT well-known among the Thai public as the “observatory organization.”
Currently, NARIT aims to tackle the most challenging astronomical problems, driving cutting-edge innovations and developing technologies required for research. This leads to the creation of a skilled workforce in science, technology, and advanced engineering. NARIT develops innovations to address astronomical research challenges and transfers technology to the industrial sector, enhancing the nation’s competitiveness and improving the quality of life for the public. From now on, NARIT will become a hub for nurturing and elevating the capabilities of personnel in all fields, giving rise to new "stars" in Thailand, ready to guide the nation in science, research, and innovation.
