"NARIT Public Night" is a stargazing event that offers the public an opportunity to observe celestial objects through various telescopes installed on the observatory's viewing terrace, including the 0.7-meter telescope, the third largest in Thailand. The event is guided by staff who introduce participants to basic stargazing, including observing celestial objects with the naked eye, finding north using constellations, measuring angular distances in the sky, and learning about zodiac constellations and other interesting stars visible that night. The event is free and open to the public.
In addition to every Saturday night, special observation events are organized during noteworthy astronomical phenomena, such as solar eclipses, lunar eclipses, supermoons, and Saturn’s close approach to Earth.
Target Audience
Students and the general public.
