Mechatronics and Control System

Telescopes are essential tools for astronomical research. Large telescopes act like "robots" that execute user commands according to programmed instructions. Mechanical tool and automatic control system design and development were established alongside the National Observatory’s operations. The mission is to design and develop telescope control systems, integrating knowledge from electrical, mechanical, and computer engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, and optics to develop such systems, making the telescope a highly complex robot. These missions significantly enhance the country's astronomical infrastructure, leading to more efficient astronomical research.
